Not only does food have to be catalogued and safely stored it also has to be distributed to the right place at the right time to the right people. This is no easy task. Food organisers arrange for the food to be packed up in carriers and then arrange for the delivery folk to take them to the right location for drop off.
Emergency situations can also arise through referrals from health visitors or professional carers i.e. social workers, CPN’s, Headteachers, etc., or even through a desperate cry for help taken over the phone or email. Such occasions are responded too quickly, especially when there are vulnerable adults or children involved.
Parcels are co-ordinated according to health requirements and need.
